Hi there! Appart from being a scrap addict, I like to take photos and go to the movies with my dear hubby, but I also like to make stuff for the home in sewing… Not that I do so much yet but I wish I was doing more. I was taking a class with a very nice woman here twice a month until last year January and in fall 2010 I even bought a sewing machine. But unfortunately I lost it in the flood of my flat after the tsunami. I barely started to know how to use it and make straight stitches 😦 I was really sad, honestly. We had our lives so I should be thankful for that, and I AM of course, but after 20 times thinking or saying it it’s just too much to bare when you look at your devastated flat, all things fallen down and dripping with water. All the memories… And you just want to cry and morn the things you lost. Anyway… I finally decided to buy a new one last week. My dear auntie and my grand-ma told me they would help me with the purchase so I didn’t hesitate longer to get it. Thank you so much!! I chose the same one cause I liked it very much and I had the automatic thread cutting stuff so it was nice. The first thing I need to make is a gift my my family of course 😉 I made some nice table mats for my mum, with Japanese style fabrics and linen last year before I go back there for the holidays. It was fun and not too complicated cause all straight stitches, patchwork style.

Anyway… Talking about sewing, I found this cool site gathering links to sewing tutorials: Quality Sewing Tutorials. So if you like sewing too, go check it out. Hopefully I ‘ll have something to scrap about that someday… soon… I hope lol. But for now I made this page with my new sewing machine 😉

Coucou ! A part être une accro au scrap, j’aime prendre des photos et aller au ciné avec mon chéri, mais j’aime aussi faire des trucs pour la maison en couture… C’est pas que j’en fasse beaucoup encore mais j’aimerais bien que ce soit le cas. Je suivais une classe avec une dame très gentille ici 2 fois par mois jusqu’en janvier 2011 et à l’automne 2010 j’avais même acheté une machine à coudre. Mais malheureusement je l’ai perdue à cause de l’innondation de notre appartement après le tsunami. Je venais à peine de commencer à savoir comment l’utiliser et à faire des coutures droites 😦 J’étais vraiment triste. Nous étions en vie donc je devrais être reconnaissante pour cela, et je le suis BIEN SUR, mais après une vingtaine de fois à le penser ou à se le dire ça fait juste trop à encaisser quand on regarde à son appartement dévasté, tout parterre et gorgé d’eau. Tous les souvenirs… Alors forcmément on craque, on pleure et on fait le deuil des choses perdues. Enfin bref… J’ai finalement décidé d’en acheté une nouvelle la semaine dernière. Mes chères tantine et grand-mère m’ont dit qu’elle sm’aideraient pour cet achat alors je n’ai pas hésité plus longtemps pour l’avoir. Merci beaucoup !! J’ai choisi la même car je l’aimais bien et elle avait un coupeur de fil automatique donc c’était sympa. La première chose que j’ai besoin de faire c’est un petit cadeau pour ma famille bien sûr 😉 J’ai fait des sets de table pour ma mère, avec du tissu japonais et du lin. C’était sympa et pas trop compliqué à faire parce que coutures droites seulement, façon patchwork.

Alors, à propos de couture, j’ai trouvé ce site qui regroupe des liens vers des tutoriels de couture : Quality Sewing Tutorials. Alors si vous en faite aussi, allez voir de plus près. C’est en anglais par contre mais bon, c’est peut-être jouable pour tout le monde grâce à Google Translator hi hi. Si tout va bien j’aurai sans doute quelque chose à scraper à se sujet… un jour… bientôt… j’espère ha ha ha. Mais pour l’instant j’ai fait cette page avec ma nouvelle machine à coudre 😉

English : That’s it! I finally bought again a sewing machine. The one I had for such a small time last year was lost in the flood of our flat due to the tsunami. I was barely starting to know how to make a, more or less, straight stitch… I was left unsatisfied. But that’s it! I will be able to continue learning and above all playing.
